Housed in the Museo del Prado in Madrid since 1939, this masterwork juxtaposes a fantastical Eden with a nightmarish hellscape. In the rightmost panel, Bosch's hell teems with grotesque figures and surreal torments that reflect moral and religious anxieties of his time.
