$10.99

Who among us hasn’t sought divine intervention when in the throes of a daunting card game? While we can’t make any promises on that front, with the Genius Writers playing card set, you’ll no longer find yourself Waiting for Godot. Leverage the literary genius of the past century’s greatest writers in sharpening your ludic acumen, through 54 cards featuring authors within 4 literary categories: Modern, Mid-Century, Postmodern, and Contemporary. The set, skillfully rendered through the watercolor palate of Marcel George, offers a playful introduction to the ‘infinite library’ of modern and contemporary literature.

Playing cards were invented in Imperial China.  They were found in China as early as the 9th century during the Tang Dynasty (618–907).  Playing cards first entered Southern Europe in the 14th century, probably from Mamluk Egypt, using the Mamluk suits of cups, coins, swords, and polo-sticks, and which are still used in traditional Latin decks.
