Known for seascapes, Winslow Homer could also haunt us with his landscapes. Nowhere is this better shown than Fox Hunt (1894), from the Philadelphia Museum of Art. We see common Homer accents, from the sharp diagonal to the burst of red. Homer reminds us of the thin line between trapped and trapper, but you won’t get out-foxed in your choice.
