Sleeping Cat and Butterflies Small Boxed Notecards
Jane Pauley put it best when she said, “you can’t look at a sleeping cat and be tense.” For exhibit A, look no further than the subject of this card, which comes from Birds and Flowers, an album by an anonymous artist from the Japanese Edo period (1615–1868). The cat’s silky fur radiates across the card, as our feline subject doesn’t let dancing butterflies get in the way of achieving a slumbering reverie to which us mortals can only aspire.
