Hokusai Book of Postcards
The art of Katsuhika Hokusai places viewers on Cloud 9, with dramatic vantage points of windy roads, mountain peaks, and rich vegetation that seem to levitate in thin air. His style is both distinctive to Japan’s artistic traditions, while also an influence on major American and European artists of the 19th and 20th centuries. Not bad for an artist who referred to himself as the “Old Man Mad about Painting.”
